Name Field

The Drupal Name Field project is a critical module providing a dedicated field type for personal names, ensuring structured and accurate data capture. It stores a name in up to six distinct components (e.g., Title, Given Name, Family Name), which is necessary for precise name management that standard text fields cannot offer.

This structure enables powerful, customizable formatters to display names consistently in any required format (e.g., formal, informal, or initialed). The module is fully integrated with core Drupal features, including Views, Tokens, and User profiles, making the name data easily accessible and usable across the entire site for everything from contact forms to user display names.

Name Field

Name Field is a module that provides a multi-component name field for the Field API.

Features

  • Select between one to five separate fields to capture a persons title, given (first), middle, family (surname), generational suffix and credentials (post-nominals).
  • Name and name list formatters.
  • Real / Display name: create an alternative screen name to the users login name. To enable this feature, simply add a name field to the user bundle and enable this feature when configuring the field.
  • Select or Text field support for Titles and Generational suffixes.
  • Optional autocomplete options for all text fields
