Hospital-based social network

I would like to see examples of a HOSPITAL social networking site for communication within the staff, sharing information, meetings, blogs, and other services confined to our hospital staff. Can I look at other hospital networks? Ron

N School website with 2000 users

Hi there
Ive been using other software for a while now, doing small easy sites but was now asked to do a site for a school and im wondering if drupal wont be more flexable for me to do so. they requires each student(actually their parents) to be able to log into their own "profile" to access exam poins, merits, detentions, attendance register, teacher comments on the specific student time tables, etc,
Will i be able to achieve this with Drupal? please any idees welcome?

Drupal Overview

I come from a WordPress and EE background and have become accustomed to template tags. Basically writing my HTML/CSS templates then dropping in PHP tags where content is to live and bam, theme done (for the most part).

Is this how Drupal works? I'm getting mixed signals from drupal.org and various tutorials out there which are leading me to think Drupal is much more complicated than I'm used to. Can someone help clear things up for me? Thanks!
