Before you start

Hey everybody,

I used to be Drupal user back in the 4.3 days and switched to WordPress because of the simplicity. Now I'm pondering to move back because I'm not getting help in the WordPress community but before I do, I have a question.

I want to turn my personal blog into a social networking site and need to know if there's a plugin that can scrape content from a URL and display it as a post, like Facebook does.

someone in the showcase forum mentioned a site can be faster if you "...aggregate the js & css..." how does one do that? particular in drupal 7? thanks.

I've been working with Drupal 7 (I'm a newbie though I've been coding for years) and for the last three days I've been trying to get an image slide show to work on my homepage header.

I was able to get it working when I created my views as a page (the image slide works on a separate page/node including the image thumbnails at the bottom) but when I create my image slide views as a block (image slide to be show in a block) the image thumbnails don't work - the slide animation works but the bottom image thumbnails disappear.

What's the best way to start learning Drupal?

Hi everyone,
a customer has two hotels in the city. There is one domain with a short introductions to both hotels. (www.example.org)

Each hotel is supposed to get its own website. Like www.example.org/hotel1 or hotel1.example.org

Im trying to put a new site for a small group of people with similar interestes. I would like to have content separated for public and for register user (our group).
I would also like to have some option for comunication with user (email, chat, forum), and also to have users notified when there is some sort of new content.
our group already has a site based on wordpress and buddypress module which serves as some sort of comunity builder.

Is it possible to have something similar to Facebook groups done with drupal and some existing modules?
