Hi everyone; i wanted some expert guidance on site building so posting this thread. Sorry u might find it silly but I am searching internet since last 3 weeks and now I’m really confused so posting it anyhow.. :(
ok coming to the main matter - I am doing electrical engineering and I m given a project work of creating an advance in depth database of electrical Element now this task is tangible for me but I have to making it publicly available through a website which is a problem(means query)!! As I am from electrical side hence don’t have much knowledge of web development (But after working for 3 weeks and reading bunch of books I am quite conversed and MORE confused with it :-D) so my quarries are:-
1) My database will be having a large chunk of data (almost >9000 entry), site should sort-filter-compile and display this data according to query given by user!! so how to do this?? I googled and know that drupal is BEST-EFFICIENT option for handling such large data.. but how to design such site?
2) How to prepare my data to make it web domain or drupal friendly?!! Means will it be ok to prepare it in excel or I have to save it in special way?? Or is there any way to add data directly in drupal?(I also came across oracle 11g!! do I hv to use that!! Or what? :-|)
I'm looking at setting up 2 sites with some integration, and I'm not sure if it can be done (or more to the point if I can do it!). The first site will be for members (authenticated users only). The other will be for guests. I'd like to have the two sites set up as subdomains guests.mysite.com and members.mysite.com, with mysite.com being very basic with links to either subdomain.
The members site would be a very simple drupal install, so no challenge there. Here's where it gets tricky:
I am looking to develop a website for events so that users can register for seminars etc. Once registered on an event, I'd like users to be sent a automated Calendar Appointment and followed by an email reminder closer to the time. Is this possible? I had a quick look through some modules but couldn't find anything completely relevant.
I am new to this so any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Hello Guys,
This is Amy Turner I am very new to the field of Website designing. I do have a couple of question about this. I need to know from where to buy Perstashop theme online for my upcoming website.
I hate to ask such a no0b question. I think I am thinking of this the wrong way here, but I've created a testing site that I've been banging on Drupal for a week now and I think I understand it a bit to begin with template design/dev. One thing that really messed me up is how Drupal handles articles vs pages. Here is my question:
