Sub Users/Accounts

I am trying to create a site that will allow a user role of consultant to create subusers or accounts for which he could use to create orders for on their behalf. The site administrator should have access to see all the consultants and the sub accounts they have created where as a consultant should only see the users they have created and manage.

A consultant will be paid commission based on the number of orders he makes for his users so therefore it is important the administrator can filter users based on the consultant who created them.

drupal 6 vs drupal 7

Hi

I want to build an e-commerce website using drupal.
I would like to know whether I should build it using drupal 6 since it is more stable and has more extensions and modules to add.
Or can I start using drupal 7 directly since most of the extensions and modules are also applicable to this version.

In other words, I am trying to avoid a situation where I have to rollback to version 6 because of a specific module/development that is only available on version 6.

Thank you in advance.

Okay, I'm going to start off by saying I've been doing front-end development for about 5 years now. I've tried to use several different kinds of CMS software including ModX, Joomla and CMS Made Simple. Of these, I liked CMS Made Simple the best.

Drupal or not Drupal

I'm going to build an ecommerce website with tons of products (will have data entry guy) and even more media. It should be fast and reliable. After examining 3 different platforms (Joomla, Wordpress and Drupal) I can see advantages of Drupal 7 + Ubercart 2 for project that will grow. Since I have a DBA background I can figure out how to speed up backend. So Drupal as CMS is a perfect out of the box solution.
At the same time I have dilemma. Since my project cannot wait I need to choose CMS now. And accordingly to what I see not every module/template is compatible Drupal 7.
