I know html and css very well but not cms, and there is an ever increasing crowd of people that would like to content manage there site i guess its time...I have never been a person that uses templates I just prefer to do my own design work...
I am currently using Typo3 for my CMS. It is really buggy and for a marketing person the support/themes add ons are horrible. Has anyone had experience with switching an existing website over from Typo3 or any other CMS? How does it effect SEO? I am also considering Joomla but form everything I have read Drupal is more robust even though the learning curve is more intense. Any comments will be really helpful.
Looking to replace our inhouse written CMS with something else and Drupal is high on my list of possible solutions. I am struggling to find out if Drupal will work the way I need it to though. Can somebody help answer my questions?
1/ Will Drupal support integration into a inhouse built API to get stock of products and prices. I have seen Drupal E-Commerce solutions but they all seam to have the products and prices loaded into Drupal. I don't want to, and can't load the products into Drupal as the stock and prices come from 3rd parties with 3rd party API's wrapped up behind our own request system which gets multiple products from back end sysetms and packages them together. We sell shortbreaks, which might be a hotel from one API and a ticket to the theatre from another API. All this stock and pricing is available from a single API Request system we have developed in house but now we need to get these products into a CMS/Templating system. Is this possible, and if so how?
I have a D7 site up but it seems after much testing and research there are zero modules that are ready for a production site as far as multimedia Friends or an actual chat room should I just revert to D6 it would seem atleast in my limited use that D7 is not even ready itself with alot of errors and how can they talk of D8 when D7 is not ready with any modules if I am wrong please advise thanks
Hi, I'm looking for a CMS to build a site where almost all the content will be added by registered users. They have to post it from the front end.
The registered user will post, for example, about restaurants.
- Choose a country
- Choose or enter a city name
- Enter the restaurant name, its address...
- Post info about the restaurant
- Be able to upload photos, maybe video
- Create an account (My account, My favourites, ...), with all the posts of the user
Hi folks, I have a very extensive static website with multilevel hierarchy in its structured categories. I'm thinking about moving to a Drupal based site. ( I've used Joomla before, but found it to be a security nightmare, always fighting off russian forum spammers or hackers who wanted to post or join. So for other sites I've used WordPress with Akismet, which works well to block that nonsense. )
