Drupal right for my site

Evening,

I was wondering if someone would be able to give me some advice or point me in the right direction which I problem I've been trying to start.

Last summer I came up with an idea for a website and since then have been trying to do the research necessary to try and get this thing off the ground.

Essentially I'd like to design a site for college students looking for places to go in "college towns". The site would be review based (self-generating) where each establishment is reviewed, rated and commented on by other students.

A site with these components

Search for a specific establishment by name or location
Search for a specific area (zip code)/school with a list/tabs of establishments
Read a break down for each establishment and view different ratings
Rate a establishment or add one if it is not yet listed

One key component I am looking for is allowing users to add something that might not be on the review page. Similar to adding a professor in www.ratemyprofessor.com

datingsite made drupal ?

Hallo there.
Ive got this assignment to build a dating site for the swinger community. My job had been on the project before but got shotten down, but now they want it up and running agian.
So there are some code already build. The site is atm build in html (tables and some divs) with php and smarty as the template system.

But i keep thinking, this would be easiere to build in drupal. So i would like you guys to tell me what you think about it ..

the site should contain :
being able to have different info about the user, gender, age, smoker(none smoker, sometimes, addicted)
messages between users
create folders for messages to keep
users relationship
users being able to be friends with eachother.
posting news in the swingercommunity
photogalleri for each user
able to upload videos for each user
having a club, and users can be attending that club. just like the fanpage thing on facebook i assume.
visitornumbers, and show which users has visited your site
able too block other users, and get number over how many blocks the user has.
a calender for each user, and being able to manage who can view it, friends or all.
a guestbook to write messages in, shown to public.
make difference between paid user and none paid user.

And last a chat module of somekind with webcam integration. So they can view eachother.

Community Site With Durpal CMS

Hello everyone.

What is the best way to run multiple Drupal sites on a VPS

I am thinking about getting a Level 3 VPS from Hostgator with cPanel. I think the easiest way would be to take advantage of Drupal's multi site feature running from the same cPanel account and code base. This way I can upgrade and backup a little easier. The other way was to create multiple cPanel accounts with different IP address. Any suggestions? Thanks!

migrating multilingual site.

In one department of my faculty we have a very old website that uses a mysql database + php code to show the information (no interface is avaliable to add/update content, we relay on phpMyAdmin for that).
As a result, both the database and the site are a total nightmare to mantain, and we are considering migrating to drupal, in which some of us have some previous experience.

Would Drupal work for a meeting system, with approve/deny to not attend?

Hello,

I have worked with Drupal before and am having trouble finding a solution to this seemingly simple problem.
