so i've been working on a site for quite some while, and now that i've just about finished I need to do one final thing. Add a subscription fee to use the site.
After some googling around, i've heard of ubercart, zencart, e-commerce and a few other modules. I played around with ubercart for a little, but found that using drupal7 was giving it errors.

Hello,

A quick info about me n my requirements -- I am a computer science student learning programing and web designing for past 3 years. tried almost every software of big languages but never expertised in anything specific. I am like jack of all trades and master of none.
Now what i need to do is to make a CD presentations. This is my college's project regarding a national conference on computing to be held next month which will provide authors from all across the country to present their research papers. The CD description i was given is like on autorun there should be a simple movie introducing about the conference and then it should provide an interface where all research papers from our conference are arranged, groups wise and then track wise. There should be some basic features like sorting and searching of papers and clicking on a paper should open up a pdf doc, probably in some new window.
Now what do you guys suggest i should do. I got like 2 weeks for learning/experimenting something. Should i...
1) create a flash intro from some flash template and then create a simple pdf file with links in it.
2) create a movie with movie maker and pass on the control to some web page with all the papers.
3) Try some advanced software/template like that from adobe or something.
I've already read in forums that one can create an online library of books using Drupal. I mean books categorized in a bunch of categories (fields in the database) and not plain Title and Article as Joomla uses.
I'm looking to make a fairly simple website with:
- A front page with boxes at the top I can turn on and off as needed, as well as news.
- A couple of static pages
- An events section, where each event has a list of films. I'd like the films to be separate documents that are attached to the event, all listed on the same page.
- Custom side bars on each page.
In particular I'm worried about the events section, what modules should I be looking at?
