Before you start

I recently had the pleasure of discovering Drupal, but before I get too excited I want to make sure Drupal is a right fit for my project. After doing some browsing and reading some tutorials I am not entirely sure, so hopefully you guys can help!

I'm brand new to Drupal administration, though I have extensive web app development experience using other technologies.

The site I'm administrating is for a local professional organization. It has public facing pages with content/news relating to the organization.

I want to start a new project with my favorite CMS and I want to do it with a good approach.
My question is: What's project management tool can be the best choice?

I want to understand if tools as Collabtive can improve my project and if these tools
can reduce the project reworking.

Hello! I was recently passed onto Drupal, after moving away from my old CMS provider. I design websites for clients, and most require a backend CMS. I have a few questions before I get going with Drupal.
1- Can I still create the entire website in my own format, and have Drupal as the backend user system for the clients to access? Or do I have to create my site based only on the Drupal software?
2- Do I need to install all of the versions of the software, or just the most recent one? I see there are two listed.

First of all thanks to everyone who contributes to this site. It is fantastic.

Could some experienced users of Drupal give me their opinion on the feasibility of building the functionality listed below within a Drupal 6 site? Could this be done without too much raw coding? I have been exploring multiple options to build a web application and some advice would be very much appreciated. Please forgive the length of this but I am trying to spell out the major steps so that if one is a deal breaker I will know which one it is. Any insight you can provide regarding whether a specific module or approach would be needed would be very valuable to me.

Example:
Bob creates an account and inputs 10 questions that he would like to ask 5 different people(known as Answerers).

Bob enters the Answerer's email addresses and a link is sent out to each of them notifying them of questions they need to answer.

Each Answerer can answer the questions and save their work in a draft format until they decide to finalize it.

When they finalize it an email is sent to Bob notifying him that the questions are complete.

Bob can view all answers side-by-side in a table or matrix.

Bob can rate each response on a level of 1-10 based on its quality.

If Bob wants, he can share this the entire table with others(Reviewers) and they can rate the answers as well.

I want to convert to new structure my blog which is yeni.web.tr

1. Registration Form: Mail subscription system will be activated. In members form, there will be name surname, nickname, e-mail and password area. Also members have to read and accept user agreement (I prefer checbox) and there should be a captcha.

2. Profile Page: Every member have speacial profile page. This profile pages will also open users to non-members.

Members can add their own picture, about, birthday , city, country informations and web/log, facebook, twitter links. Also projects into the name, logo and description in the text that will take place.

There will be alphabetical member page likewise A-B-C... . When clicked A link, initial of users which is A, will be listed.

3. Adding Project: When members wanted to add a project, firstly they give the project name, web site and e-mail address (blabla@website) which belong this project web site. Than system will sent activation mail that e-mail and when user click this activation link, s/he will be able to go second step.

In second step, user can see previously informations which are project name, web site, also user can add slogan, logo, about information, facebook, twitter, blog and blog rss feed links, and user can pick the categories which are already add system by me. Finally users can add 5 screenshot about project.
