Established Peer Review Music Community - >20000 mp3's, 100000 reviews

I am responsible for the http://www.sectionz.com musicians community and need to create a new site to improve the look & user experience.

In posting this question I hope to receive some feedback on viability, modules you think I might use and/or Installation profiles I might begin with.

There are currently 22,222 (actually!) mp3's, >40,000 registered members and almost 100,000 music reviews.

The most important features of the existing community are:

1. You (member) upload your audio file with description, cc license type etc (like blogging but the primary content is the mp3)

2. Other members listen, rate and leave a review on the music you uploaded. (like commenting on a blog, but purposed as reviewing + rating + Y/N vote it into the top 20 or not.)

* The same as above for other content types like dj-mixes, goodies (synth patches, samples etc), project files (FL, Ableton Live, Reason files etc)

3. Besides the upload, display and reviewing of the content mentioned above and the relevant home pages for it, I need to have "blocks" in which we query the db to display various sidebar and category home page data like top lists, most recent lists etc.

Info to create online soccer league of a videogame

Hi, my name is Niko. I'm a italian boy then sorry for my bad english :)
I would to create a website that contain various leagues and championships for a game called Pro Evolution Soccer (it is a football video-game). The purpose of this site is to subscribe the users that will compete in a match of PES.

Once the match finish either of the users (and here starts the problems) should enter the result, which automatically updates the standings in real time ...
Then should exist the possibility to create other leagues, which only some people can partecipate in.

Let me explain in detail how it should works:
I have 30 registered users (for example). All 30 are in a championship.
These users challenge each other, not based on a set schedule, but as they want, the site calculates the points to be assigned to each game, based on the level of the player, how many matches have played etc. etc. .. (I think is really hard to get this).

When the match is over, one of the two player should enter into an area of the site where he can writes the result of the match, and once sent the result the site calculate score of the ranking based on the parameters that I've written before ...

What do you say, there is no such thing ???

Is it possible to do everything with Drupal, naturally integrating appropriate plugin ...???

Is it possible to desactivate the online payment part of an e-commerce plugin (ie ubercart) ?

Hi All!

I am discovering Drupal and as mentionned in the title, I would like to know whether it's possible to use an e-commerce plugin (with all the functions such as "add to cart" etc..) but to desactivate the online payment of the plugin.

This is for creating a website that would propose different products and people could pick what they want to buy (just like an ordinary online shop) but instead of paying online, the customers would pay on delivery. In this case the order would be sent by mail to the shop.

Is Drupal a bad choice?

Hi,
I am new here and I want to know if there are any "real-world" Real Estate For Sale websites implemented using drupal- or is drupal just a bad choice for this type of site?

Thanks in advance!

client portal

Good morning all.

I wonder if anybody can point me in the right direction..

I've been asked to help build a site with what you might describe as a "client portal" feature. Each user must only be able to see content specific to them once logged in (think like an online catalogue, where you can log in and see your orders, history, case tracking etc). All new orders/cases must be visible to the administrator from one centrally managed panel/page.

My question is, should I be looking at Drupal Commons, or Organic Groups?

Many thanks.
