Before you start

This is my first post on Drupal page. I am in the process of creating a social network site that offers the following:

1) Private and public blogs for all members
2) Private, public and hidden groups can be created by all members.
3) blog book by author (myself)

Please advice which modules should I use. I have been reading for a while and I have drupal installed already on my hosting site.

I am planning to use Drupal multi-site solution for my new site. It'll have a lot of sections, so I want to have a separate Drupal installation for each section. Like

example.com (main)
sec1.example.com
sec2.example.com
-----------------

But I want to use single (shared) user database for the site. So, I will share the main site's user related tables with each section's site. I want to use the main site's user profile URLs for each section like

Our organisation is planning a shift away from our current CMS and we are seriously considering Drupal as an alternative.

One of the areas of functionality which I would like to know more about is the ability to display related secondary content. For example, for the content type "event" we would also like to display a block view for the content type "venue" and another view for the content type "speakers" etc.

I am tasked with building both a quick quote and a specification builder form at work.

The requirement is to build a form that as you select various options change the following options. So for example the specification form in the case of a car might be:

Choose Mercedes from a drop down.

All subsequent drop downs change to display Mercedes only input options. such as relevant makes and models and their features.

I know how to build a form using the FAPI. I've done it just one before. I wonder if someone could suggest - is drupal suitable for this problem?

I am uploading a lot of video-audio files to www.archive.org
I would like to play or embed video and audio files in my website.
each new added post to the website should include:
- Video Player to play the file hosted in www.archive.org
- Audio Player to play the file hosted in www.archive.org
