I appreciate any guidance you can offer. Would the services here allow me to create a person-person buying network similar to that offered by Amazon? Could the system accommodate such a system where people are buying from each other and I am just the intermediary? I noticed lots of auction discussions but none specifically focused on person-person transactions, most were business-person. If so, when would I run into potential problems, as the buyer-seller network gets larger?
Hey everyone, I am a recent convert from Joomla to Drupal so any help and suggestions are welcome :)
I am building a directory type site which I had powered with Joomla for some time now but recently I discovered that my competitors kick my a***e in SERP's no mater what link building and SEO strategies I employ. And this is how they do it:
I'm a PHP developer starting a site for a local sports club. There will be standard content pages, but I also need to create a database (probably 7-8 tables) that will be used for creating all kinds of game and league statistics. There will be a site admin that enters match scores, and I'd like to programatically update the DB and present customized statistics to all league members via the website.
Hello
I and a friend of mine are looking to set-up a Spreadshirt like start-up. When I asked around, web-development firms told me that a website like that would cost around 6000$. Now we don't have that kind of capital right now. I have tinkered with Drupal in the past and I thought why not give it a try again. Here's what I have been looking for (explained as lucidly as possible) -
1. Front end (mystore.com)
2. New store owner registration + sub-domain/sub-directory (user.mystore.com or mystore.com/user)
3. Store customisation ability (nothing fancy - store owner can add banner)
4. Store Owner file upload (illustrator design files we can check out and approve for printing)
5a. Store owner can display a number of product images on his store (items for sale)
5b. These product images can link to the main site (mystore.com) where the product can be bought. The admin knows what product got sold by what store owner.
--OR--
5. Avoid the above duplication and the sale can be made straight from the store-owner's subdomain.
6. Buyer login etc.
7. Database that maintains buyer information etc.
We will be updating the style of the Omega for someone who has installed the standard package/templates and adding some modules.
The problems are:
# I am unable to find an example Drupal CMS for me to get used to and browse, am I to assume you would have to actually install your own version of Drupal before I get a look see?
# There is no contact/live chat anywhere except this issue system?
This is my first foray into the CMS world but I'm fine with HTML/CSS/Javascript and even a bit of PHP if necessary.
This particular website is for a small club, around 100 users max. The primary requirements are to incorporate a simple to use message board / forum and an image & video library, maybe something with a lightbox type image display.
Probably a much asked question but I am trying to establish whether I should be using Joomla 2.5 or Drupal 7 for this.
