Taxonomy Group Fields

Taxonomy Group Fields (TGF) provides a customizable widget to collect data from large vocabularies. Works with Taxonomy Term Reference field types.

If a select box or autocomplete field is not enough, TGF may be the solution for you. It focuses around usability when a large number of terms are available for the user to select from. Sometimes it may be easier for the terms to be shown as a list of checkboxes in groups. Sometimes they should have "Select All" options.

While the current feature set is still slim, the possibilities are large in scope.

Current Features

  • Supports only bi-level taxonomies.
  • Parent may serve as a "Select All" option for children or selection can be disabled, rendering it as a column header.
  • Works with Radios or Checkboxes (single or multiple cardinality)
  • Option to show/hide the field title.
  • Option to show a message with the cardinality limit.

Features I'd Like to Support

  • Nested, multi-level taxonomy
  • Grouped radios (select only one from each sublevel)

And I'm sure you will all think of more applications. If anyone would like to help work on adding in these features, please contact me.

Mozilla Popcorn Fields

Under active development (sample here http://tiptoes.ca/drupal-popcorn

PURPOSE: leverage Popcorn.js / web native video editing integration into Drupal for content editors
REQUIRES video.js module

Potentially leverage code from Popcorn Maker http://mozillapopcorn.org/popcorn-maker/

ORIGINAL IDEA/THIS CODE
1. Field Definition, that includes 'groups' of fields as a representation of each Mozilla Popcorn Plugin
2. User uploads a video.js
3. user enters start/stop time and other plugin-relevant information as an 'events'
4. Node-specific JS is generated based on user entry (see field_plugin_popcorn.js) as an example/stub of what should be generated

WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN NEXT (TODO)

Rework as an entity
This needs to be an entity type, I think although the field type seemed great at the time...it's not the right direction
Someone to take on recreating an entity type based on the ideas expressed here in code . (this will be me, in November if no one else is interested in helping by then :)
Popcorn Maker Sandbox (butter etc) needs to go up so we can play (and learn)
I'll try to do this before end of Aug
