So, I thought it would be a good idea to set up a test site for everyone to check out. This is a default install of Drupal 6.0 running on my hosting company of choice, AN Hosting:
I recently let my Site5 hosting expire but have need to re-establish a new Drupal Site (for my sons' Cub Scout Pack). I have been playing around with V6.0 and am reluctant to return to an earlier version (nice job everyone!).
So, now that it has been released, does anyone know when 6.0 will come online?
I am using crucial paradigm's managed plan. My site (http://ispeakx.com, a new low traffic site) runs out of memory with apache 2 and php 5, and now has to run on apache 1.3 and php 4. And the memory usage is still high (when I type "top", it shows around 230 mb is used out of 256mb. (before it runs out of memory, it was running ok except for the same high memory usage. not sure what exactly has changed caused out of memory problem.
I am signing up at a web-host that says it has recurrent billing. The exact text on its FAQ page is:
Q. How do I make a payment?
A. All online payments are recurring. Your payment will automatically be deducted. You may also pay manually each billing cycle using the Paypal Buynow option.
I do have a paypal account, but no money in it. So I plan to use a credit card, that too of my friend's.
The issue is
a) I do not want recurrent billing. If not then how does manual billing occur?
I'm having two issues with my host service, Ubiquity Hosting.
Firstly, I'm not sure how to configure clean URLs. I made sure that the database I loaded had a clear cache and clean-urls OFF, and the site as such is working ok. However, I'm not sure, despite the wealth of information regarding clean-url configuration, how to get ubiquity to enable this, either through my .htaccess file or through their httpd.conf or elsewhere. Anyone who's had this experience with Ubiquity--your advice is greatly appreciated.
