Install in temporary folder

Hi,

I'm looking to install Drupal into a temporary folder www.example.com/drupal
Because there is an older live site active.
My question is, is it possible to install and configure (modules, themes, and so on) and then move the entire drupal site to www.example.com?
Thnx in advance

Is Drupal something for me?

Hi all

I'm planning on starting a swedish community for laptops. Consumer tips and general discussion. I want people to be able to post reviews, news and such on the site. Not just through forum threads. I want people to be able to have Profiles with lots of information as well.

I've been looking at both Drupal and Joomla, and both needs a lot of time to figure out, so I want to decide before I dive into something this big.

All tips are welcome and greatly appreciated!

/Adam

Ps. I am currently a web-developer, but mainly for graphics & css/xhtml.

header bootstrap browser cache

Is there a way to set the php header information so that a given page is not cached by the browser? There seems to be some code in bootstrap.inc that does this under certain circumstances. I know how to do it with php header, but I'm worried about interfering with Drupal. I have three pages that I need to make sure can't be cached by the browser. Oh, they're also xml pages, not html syntax. Thanks for any help.

deeply nested menus

Hi,

I find myself needing a deeply nested menu system, I happen to have found one that I really like. You can see an example here:

http://ottawa.ca/residents/animal_care/index_en.html

The sub-menus are navigated with a box on the left and text as a top bar as you can see on that website.

I would like to know if Drupal has a module that does sub-menus like that.

Thanks.

Drupal 5 or 6 beta?

Hi,

I've got a few Drupal projects coming up and was wondering if I should develop them in Drupal 5 or 6. Drupal 6 is already at Beta 3 if I'm not mistaken so I think it would be great to use the latest and the greatest instead of building the site on Drupal 5 and then upgrading later.

What do you guys think?
