i have problam to install of drupal 4.7.6,there is error of Unable to connect to database server

I request my hosting provider to move my site to new block running PHP5 and here is the new software version. Is it be okey running Drupal 5.3 or Drupal 6 with civicrm 1.9. This is multiple domains sites and I also plan to run Joomla 1.5.

I have a few questions to ask. I presently have a site set up with Joomla but looking for a better alternative.
1) Is drupal java based? I need something more search engine friendly without alot of finicky hack plugins to make it so.

2) Can I convert my site over to drupal and is this easy for a none programer? Or do I need to get a person to do this for me and is there a source to find these people?
