Is Drupal a viable solution for my website? Please review What is Drupal before posting.

Does Drupal allow for consistent user base across multiple installations?

Say I have

DomainA.com
DomainB.com
DomainC.com

Three sites have their individual content and are different. However can I have them have the same userbase with different permissions? Is it possible to set some shared content and some seperate content?

Please let me know which of these options are possible.

Member Management/Members Only Section

If Drupal will do what I am looking for, I will just be THRILLED!

I am part of a non-profit scientific research organization that runs solely off of member and public donations.

We are growing so big that handling membership manually has become somewhat of a nuisance and it is high time we developed some sort of management system, as well as a "Members Only" area.

Assign Branches of "Tree" To Specific Editors

I used Drupal a couple years ago and moved on to Typo3 (sorry, I didn't mean to defect), but am now looking at return to Drupal.

Since I haven't really followed what's been going on, I'm a little behind the times here and have a few questions.

(1) Why the two versions? What's the difference betwee 4.* and 5.*?

? module that lets user input personal data

hello,
first of all to the guys from drupal, thanks very much for sharing this possibility to create with us!

i have been assigned the task to create a networking website (like a mini version of linkedIn http://www.linkedin.com/ , that lets users register their personal data
within a database (much like the registration on any normal drupal-site, but with far more data that will
have to be put in by the users, e.g. profession, different addresses, personal data, mobile numbers etc.)

FastCGI for IIS6 Officially Released and Supported

From the M$ release announcement at http://www.iis.net/php/

The IIS Team is eager to announce the official release of Microsoft FastCGI Extension for IIS 6.0 as a free download. For the first time, we are providing hosters and PHP developers full support for a stack of technology that enables reliable, scalable PHP hosting on production Internet Information Services 6.0 (IIS 6) Web servers.

This release could not have come at a more exciting time for the technology: previous beta releases on IIS.NET have had over 17,000 downloads and no less than six hosting partners have already begun offering PHP hosting on IIS 6 with the FastCGI Extension. In addition to the downloads, the IIS community site also has a very active forum of users exchanging ideas and providing feedback about the FastCGI Extension.

I did not ftp these files

I installed 5.3 and is working fine now. During ftp process, I did not upload below files:-

CHANGELOG.txt, INSTALL.mysql.txt, INSTALL.pgsql.txt, INSTALL.txt, LICENSE.txt, MAINTAINERS.txt and UPGRADE.txt

Is this okey? Look like these files is all for information only. Somebody please tell me, if my site is already working properly, will these files still required to upload?
