I'm researching best practices for a Drupal site. Drupal.org is well done, and I'd like to know what the experts are using here, especially non-default modules and blocks. For example, to create lists of related articles and links to the >Next and
I will have one portal site for a country but since I have a few good domain names I will also have at least 4-5 other satellite sites. Ideally, I will use one setup and a user in one site is signed on all.
I have played with the multisite and signlesignon but i have been locked out and had to edit it via mysql to log as an admin. I might have been doing something wrong, so I am asking here:
Is it possible to have 4-5 sites with one login and one setup? If so, where should I look?
Can different pages have different templates. For example can a staff page have an added section with a few details and a photo, then have the bulk of the content on the staff member?
Can joomla handle image files in templates this way?
Basically I want to template it so an image goes in a certain place if it is uploaded. Can an upload field be added as an extra field and then that image is called with say an {image} tag. Much like this forum software. I am not too fond of adding an image with tinymce.
I have a classifieds ads site that I might convert to Drupal. It appears that CCK fields will be the best way to structure the data. But is there any way to do an advanced search in some or all of these custom fields? For example, can I search for all posts where the custom "price" field value is between 35 and 70? The following posts make reference to this feature, but I don't really understand them:
I am planning to build a website where homeowners/realtors can upload a group of photographs and upload descriptive text along with them. Then the photographs are merged into slideshows and videos and posted back onto the web for marketing purposes.
The website I am going to build is the utility to allow the photographer/user to upload the photos and the descriptive text together.
I would like feedback on the viability of using Drupal to accomplsih this, and a recommendation of the structure/modules that would make it work.
