Before you start

Hi, I'm doing some year-end server housekeeping and I'd like to streamline my current Drupal setup. What's the best way to run Drupal in a cPanel server with several domains and customer accounts?

- A single, server-wide Drupal instance?
- A Drupal instance for each customer cPanel account?
- A Drupal instance for each customer domain?

I'm already using the multisite feature in some domains/subdomains, but I will appreciate any comments and suggestions for going further.

once Drupal 6 RC4 is installed - and Drupal 6 get released, is it just overwriting the old files with the new ones or will there be any additional changes (sql structure or other things)?

Can Drupal do this:

I plan on allowing authenticated users to create reviews for nodes that do not exist in the system yet. Few people will search before adding a node and then adding the review causing two reviews for the same node under different locations.

EX.
user1. adds a new node bestbuy and adds a review
user2 should add his review to the existing node "bestbuy" but instead adds another bestbuy and review.

I'm sure you guys get tons of posts like this, and for that I apologize, but......time is really of the essence for me, so I must be as straight as possible.

I am an intern at my school, and they have plans for a program to stimulate reading/writing. Someone came up with the idea to set up a website for the students to share their writing assignments, rate it and discuss it with other students and teachers, and also feel free to post their original works.

They put me in charge of making it happen. I looked around the web and I found this website: 1000keyboards. I think it fits the bill perfectly. I gathered prices with a few web developers, but the school still finds it's too expensive, and they asked if I couldn't do it myself. I'm not a programmer and likely never will be, but I know about content management systems and said I would look into it before getting back to them.

So, my question is: is it possible to set up a "clone" of 1000keyboards, or something very similar, with drupal and NO custom PHP? This part is very important because I know nothing about PHP or programming, and a custom script will most likely be a dead end to me.

I am currently running a busy cycling community website on a strange mismash of PHPNuke, phpBB, and years of custom coding at strange hours of the day. I've been wanting to make a clean break and move my content across to a new platform and from my initial investigations Drupal seems to be a really good option.

I'm quite an experienced PHP developer and there's quite a few functionalities I'd like to have over the base offering of Drupal. However I realize that there's a really good selection of Drupal add-ons currently available and there doesn't seem to be any point in re-inventing the wheel.
