I consider using Drupal for a Desktop application (Yes, there is a need for non-web CMS).
I've used Plone before, but want to switch because of Drupal's possibility to create Content Types without writing code (Or, in case of Plone, drawing UML diagrams).
However, I like the Usability of Plone and want to create a similar user experience with Drupal.
So what I want is this:
1. For every content type, automatically create a new Page and a menu link to it in the header section (main menu).
I am creating a new intranet site for my company based on Drupal 7. In addition to basic functionality (static reference pages, blogs/forums for new info, etc.), I would also like to integrate into the site the content and functionality from a couple of Microsoft Access databases.
At very least, I would like each database to be its own section of the site that would include the ability to:
I have a joomla site and am going to re-design/-implement my site.
simply put the site shows eventlists and events from a external database per category.
can the following be done with drupal and do you know any good tuts for me?
I've been working with wordpress for quite awhile. It's a magnificent blogging platform, but I want something more out of my website and I'm tired of being tied down by the limitations of wordpress. So after some looking around it seems like Drupal is my best bet. The only problem is I have no idea where to start.
I'm going to develop a website and I would like to know if there is a simple solution for my problem.
The site will have pages, and a subset of these pages will be available in 3 different sections. Each section should have it's own menu with links to the content.
This seems pretty simple, just add links to 3 menus. But when i'm viewing a node in one section I want to see the menu for the section I'm in right now.
