Importing nodes from XML from URL

Hi all,
With Drupal 6 is there a possible automated way to import, update and delete Ubercart's 2x products from remote XML but first transform that XML to match the Ubercart's schema?

D7: Two questions before I try Drupal again

1)
If I set-up multi-user 'blogs' in D7 (ie. a separate content type for each blogger), can each user moderate comments made to only his own nodes? Or is comment moderation still accessed by that one stupid page in the admin backend like D6? Likewise, is forum-post moderation improved?

I don't understand why, in order to moderate comments on their nodes, authors have to access the communal 'comment admin page' in the backend and can therefore erroneously or purposely delete comments from other peoples' nodes. I stopped using D6 because of this issue.

Is Drupal right for me - looking to create a social site similar to lookbook.nu and/or dribbble.com

Hi, looking to create a community and was wondering if Drupal was right for me. The things I want the community to be able to do are:

-Digg like system where top rated content is shown first
-Ability for users to upload images (images will be the only content)
-Ability for users to 'Like/Favorite' content
-Profile that displays users own posts and content they have 'Liked'

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

User File Sharing Site

Hello! And thanks in advance for any advice.

I'm interested in making a site in which users can upload, share and manage their own files.

I'd like it to function almost as if the file has it's own social-network page.

For instance, say a user makes an 'app' that they wanted to share with the community on the site.

I'd like for them to be able to make a specific page for the APP... call it MY APP 01

HELP!

I am trying to make a website for my allstar cheerleading team, I am a communication major and a graduating senior, so this should not be this hard, but I do now know where to even start!!
