Can Drupal help me connect bands with venues?

I'm once again looking into creating a website where Christian bands and Christian venues can setup profiles and input schedule information. I'd like for a band to be able to search an area during a time periods, i.e. South Carolina in July 2011 to see venues that might have available dates where they could use a band. I'd also like to let the venues search for bands whose schedules put them in close enough proximity that they might want to book the band. i.e. Youth camp in Michigan looking for a band who would be available to play during the second weekend in August. I'd also like to be able to setup criteria for bands such as genre, available configuration (solo with tracks, acoustic ensemble, full rock and roll electric group) etc. The venues would be able to enter information about their setup also, i.e. A large church might have a youth hall that seats 200 with a small PA with no monitors, a full concert setup with sound technicians, and they would also be able to designate the genres of music they would be most likely to want in each of the configurations.

Should I install Drupal 7 or 6?

I am looking to upgrade my sites from Wordpress to Drupal. I am a journalist who builds his own sites and not a professional web developer so there is a bit of a learning curve.

want to see if Drupal is right for me - need text in tables

Before I invest a lot of effort in learning Drupal, can someone confirm whether is it possible to insert text in tables or grids on in the body of a page? This table would simply have formatted text and images. I know it can be done in Joomla 1.6 which has a WYSIWYG text editor, is it possible in Drupal 7 - I would much prefer Drupal which otherwise appears ideal for what I need.

Dupal 7 & phpbb question

Hi, I'm working on building a community section of my website and need a forum. phpbb has been at the top of my list for forum software, but as I'll be using Drupal for user blogs and site articles it would be great to use the Drupal forums. However, after looking around the web for information on how the two compare I can not decide which would be best.

The fact that using Drupal form (and Advanced forum) would mean a forum integreated into my community site is a plus. But one post I read expressed concern about the load times of the forum. I want to plan ahead and ensure I have the right forum software if I get a lot of users and posts. Can Drupal handle this?

Also, there's an article on the web saying that Drupal forums behave more like blog posts with comments rather than a true forum structure, and I've read comments that phpbb forum moderation is superior to Drupals.

I've thought about a phpbb bridge, which would be great so that users don't have to log to the forum and again to the community site, but I haven't seen one that's for Drupal 7 - the modules I've found are for Drupal 6.

Recommend a hosting platform

I need a trust worthy hosting site for a Simple site that just leads to all my other posts on my other sites. Any ideas?

Nested categories

I want to be able to make a site where I can organize the content into nested categories, and tags are kept separate from categories. For example, I might have the categories News ---> Entertainment ---> Music, and then an article in the Music category might be tagged "Rihanna" or "Album Releases." There would be a page for each category so that a reader could see all the categories below it. For example, a page for the Entertainment category would show that the categories below are Music, Games, Television, Arts, Film and Books.
