Need advices to build a large multi content types site

Hi,

I need your advices to build a project that might sound ambitious and i'm not sure if Drupal is the best choice...

The project is a specie of portal that will handle large amount of content in different styles: forum, articles, submitted articles, reviews, file sharing, download, multiple galleries of pictures, videos, social networking... All working with a dedicated server.

Gmaps Drupal Question

Hi

I am new to drupal. So this might be a stupid question. I am working on a site called rideing plans. I want to integrate google maps in it where with each article I want to associate a google maps routing map. So that every motorcycle rider can route their entire route and write stories about the route. Now I wrote the website in pure php before and now I am trying to move it to drupal. Is there a specific module that I could use for this purpose. or should i try to write a module. or what approach should I take to tackle this problem.

Dynamic query and display data from imported tables in drupal site? (create a "CRM driven site")

Hi everyone,

Summer is ahead and that mean's I'll have some extra time to sink my teeth into a project that I've wanted to do for a very long time - namely creating a company intranet with focus on:

* dynamic query and reports

That is, we have lots of data on production and accounting and so far I have used MS Access to generate nice looking reports but I have since long realized that if I could make the data available on a company intranet then the users could help themeself by making their own selections (or input) and analyze the output (lists, reports, charts etc).

A specific example, I want to create a simple CRM (customer relation management) system where users can

1) Generate reports and lists based on a selection (hence, dynamic queries).
2) Preferably I want the lists / reports to be dynamic as well -- that is -- I would like the output to be "clickable" so that the user can add more data.

Example: From a form the user enters some criterias such as customer number, then select query "open invoices". A list is generated and the user wants to click on invoice number 4001 and write a comment (1:N relationship) such as "send a copy of invoice to the customer today").

Now, the BIG question -- where do I start?

Can I achieve all this just using Views2 and CCK (and some customized generic queries)?

Drupal 6 or 7?

Hello, I know that this question has been asked thousand of times, but I will still ask. I am a Drupal newbie. But now I am involved into creating a web site for a night club, so I was thinking of installing Drupal.
The thing is my client is insisting on using MailChimp for the mailing list, which has lots of bugs in Drupal 7, but is very stable in Drupal 6. Other thing is I browesed a bit about theming and have found that the most simple and well customised themes are not available for Drupal 7. (Fusion for instanse). So, I am thinking of installing Drupal 6.

Mobile Webshop

Hi

Searching for "mobile webshop with Drupal" I found some interesting stuff telling me it should be possible, but I did not found a basic guide starting from scratch putting up both the mobile things and the webshop! Is there a straight forward "How to do" guide???

I have made websites with other programs, but never via CMS.

I have tried to install Drupal on a "normal" website, just to try it out.

So for Drupal and Mobile and webshop, I am starting from scratch!
