Before you start

Hi People,

I am using Drupal first time and I have installed it from http://www.acquia.com/downloads
Now I want go ahead and start working on it ... but I am getting only Welcome page.

I am still waiting for E-mail confirmation ... how long does it take? and cant I start without it?

I have no idea when will I receive it to start my work :(

please guide !!

I have previously been using joomla to run some small sites for fun and just general learning. However I know they do have security flaws and was wondering if I would be able to safely operate a legitimate business website with an online shop with drupal. I have been doing research about drupal and have heard a lot of positive things about functionality and customization, could someone help me by answer my first question and then follow by explain what exactly makes drupal what it is?

i want to creates the dragable block for my site just like when i login in drupal.org and click on your dashboard option ,then there are lots of block comes which u can drag and drop from one place to another
for example
http://drupal.org/user/
after login click on your dashboard and you can easily drag and drop the block from one place to another,which of module i have needed for this please help me , i m new in drupal

I've always programmed in Drupal 6. Now I have to start a new web and I'm thinking to start i Drupal 7, so I want to know why start in drupal 7 instead drupal 6. I mean is enough stable Drupal 7, I will find all the modules that I needed in Drupal 6?
