I am a volunteer for a group that works with the homeless in London. We have identified a need for a solution to coordinate and publicise street food services for the homeless and hungry.
Background
Street food services are provided by multiple small groups. Services are often inconsistent and chaotic resulting in one place not being served whilst another place is served by multiple providers - this results in a "famine or feast". What is needed is an easy way for groups to see what each other are doing.
Proposed Solution
A calender based events software which allows providers to enter their proposed schedule and view what other providers have planned. In this way providers can coordinate provision. Groups can plan long term schedules and react to changes in the short term.
Each provider group is a member provided with a login. Member groups can:
Add/edit/delete single events
Add/edit/delete repeat events
Cancel individual occurances of repeat events (eg we can't make it this week)
Add new locations
The application provides public pages to:
Display events usefully in calendar and map views
Display events according to date filter (eg today, this week)
Display events according to location filters (eg within x km, "london")
I am looking for a platform to develop a family member site.
One family member signs up to a paid subscription
Then adds the other parent and children by email invitation
The family is then connected and able to share diary, chat, messaging files etc.....
Is this something that can be done with Drupal?
Looking forward to your replies.
I have an existing site www.gbpokerclub.co.uk which I have built myself, I'm a self taught question asking noob, but with the help of various forums I have the site as I want it (mostly!).
I want to transfer the site into drupal for several reasons, namely content management, security, scalability etc. However, I want to stick to the design theme I already have, which from what I gather so far means building my own theme.
My main concerns are:
