Advice needed: 2 websites 2 urls 1 Drupal CMS

Hi,

I'm looking for a bit of advice here, pro's and con's and recommendations!

I'm building a website for a client that has an office in England and one in Scotland. They would like two websites as they each speak to a different audience but primarily they both offer the same thing.

I have identified areas where content would be unique to each site, such as 'about us', 'staff' and 'previous work'.

I have also identified content where you might want the user to filter content, such as 'jobs' and 'events'.

Ubuntu Server and Drupal

Hello,

I was considering organizing Drupal a different way, but now I believe I want to install Ubuntu Server and have everything point to that. I am super new to this concept, so I would like some help. I plan on using an older computer to serve as the server temporarily until I get the gist of things. The computer that I plan on using has 1.5 GB of RAM. I was wondering if this is okay at first to use.

Shopping cart

Have been searching to find a solution to migrating our current website to Drupal. Numerous Google searches and looking at the Drupal site I have not been able to tell for sure that this is possible. What we have is a site that sells to business and retail customers. There are volume discounts and pricing based on customer type (dealer levels and retail). Does Commerce or Ubercart support this?

Which is more future proof? Wordpress or Drupal?

At the moment i use wordpress for all my web clients. As i am soon looking to make freelance graphic design and web development my full time job is drupal the real answer? Alot of what i read on the net suggests many people are making the conversion to drupal but i find wordpress easier, simpler and if i am honest better looking. But there must be a reason why the drupal community is so big! Also if you could recommend me any good books on converting to drupal that would be great! :)

Thanks!

Lead Generation Site - Help appreciated

I am investigating the option of using Drupal to build a Lead Generation Site.

The site would provide leads to service providers of different types.
I would like to be able to send a text message with leads to the service providers, they would then have the option to reject the job by replying no to the text or accept with a yes response.
If they accept the lead then the customer details would be emailed or texted to allow the service provider to contact the customer.
The service provider would be charged a fee per lead supplied.
