Classified site for selling equipment

Doing my due diligence on deciding the correct CMS to use. I have use Wordpress a lot and it is not bad for many sites, but not sure if it is for this site. My Drupal knowledge is limited, and Joomla even less.

I am looking to make a classified site for selling large equipment, much like machinerytrader.com does.

Input end: So a user can list equipment from several different categories. each of these are quite different so they will each need their own input forms & fields. Would like as many of these as we can to be a dropdown selection, and there will be a need for there to be some dynamic dropdowns based on the selection of another dropdown. Of course there needs to be a payment associated with this, would like to be able to assign the price by category. Having a reoccurring cost (I.E. by month until item no longer listed). And have a choice of extra cost for a featured listing.

User end: If we can we would like to be able to search a category using( a number of the input fields, dropdowns populated only with the options that are in the current listings, and dropdowns that are populated with what is listed but that are also dependant on what is selected in another dropdown). --or-- more simply like machinerytrader.com where there are just pages that "drill down" (category/make/model) then once on that page you can sort the results based on some fields.

Help with solution for food delivery site

Hi fellow Drupeleers! My name is Johan and Im from sweden.

I have been asked to build a site that can host different restaurangs homepages from where users can order home delivery. (Mainly Pizza f.y.a) So I am about to tackle the strategy but dont really know which approach I should take. Its why I much would like to get some help from you guys.

There are 2 ways as I look at it.

First way is to have one home page (for our services) and then build sites on top of it so that each restaurang will have its own homepage (shared design to minimize workflow from my end) This solution would take care of my biggest issue. To have an unique payment gateway for each company/restaurang/site .

2nd solution is a better strategy for site content, SEO and marketing. And that is to have all sites under one site. So that restaurangs will be all listed within the main home page. Problem then is how to make each restaurang have its own payment gateway.(I mean unique ID for the payment gateway, they will all use the same system. I just want transactions to go to their own account.) I know most services like mine use one payment Gateway ID for all their transactions but its not an option in my case.

So basicly my questions are

1) How to best approach such a project (anyone got some experience and can share)

Is drupal a good solution for this?

I need to design a simple message board. Not a forum, but a place where users can post messages and others can comment below them.

Apart from this, all I need is a main page where after login members can see a list of all message titles, can click on them and open them.

Users need to approved by admin.

That's it.

If someone can give me pointers on how to get this going, I will be grateful.

Is Drupal the right solution for...

I want to set up a personal website on my home server for friends and family to access. I will also be hosting a forum for a men's group. What I want is to be able to limit access to the site by username and password (you have to login before you can see anything at all), and I want to be able to keep entire sections of the site invisible to different users. For example, my cousin would login and see posts tagged for family, but would not see posts tagged for men's group.

creating slideshows

Hello,

I am currently working on a Web site for my place of work. I would like to know if it is possible to create a slideshow of our current events? For example, this slideshow will feature one event at a time, and if a user wishes to view this event details, they click the event and it will bring them to a sign up page. I would like this slideshow to be controllable, meaning the user can advance, rewind or pause the slide at any given moment.

Can Drupal support this?
If so, how can I do this?

tutor booking system with big blue button API integration

Hi

I am proposing Drupal to a client as a possible solution to an existing booking system that is unsustainable with the company growth. The system is ok but as I have learnt it is going to be expensive and difficult to add functionality as although the code is ok its not built on an MVC like zend or cakephp.
