Before you start

Hello,
we have developed a web site using PHP/Javascript/PostgreSQL on Ubuntu 12.10 dedicated servers .
Now, we'd like to develop a new presentation layer, but keep the PG database. The goals are :
nicer interface, adapt the interface for smartphones, tablets...
Our research led us to think that Drupal 8 may be the best tool to do that.
We have no specific timeframe, we could start with beta version and wait for Drupal 8 official release
to put in production.
Is it doable ? Is Drupal 8 fitted to this task ?

I am just starting to learn Drupal by creating a test web page.

I understand by googling how to install Drupal and make web page from beginning. However, I am using my institution web server and they already have Drupal installed. In this case how do I use/configure already installed Drupal?

I am thinking of creating a website that will start smaall, but grow large (i hope).
In the site there will be an option for registered users to start a photo gallery. They will be responsible for their own gallery, but others can not change this gallery; others can only look. Maybe administrators will be able to interfere.
Can this be done with drupal (I am asking before starting as I don't want to have a cold shower when the time comes).

Hello, I want to ask my knowledge of Joomla and vorpres if you have difficulties characterized by a system Drupal you from other CMS systems I've seen Drupal sites and I'm fascinated by them I want to make your Drupal site.

Dear friends,
I am quite new to Drupal and I am not sure even if drupal is the right solution for me.
What I need to do is a list of persons (with customized fields and information and/or attachments) to be visible only to specific user (members?) with admin or visualization password.
It is a list of person hosted in a structure and I would like other people to access the stored information (and attachment) through the web...with restrictions.

Is Drupal the right tool, or should I use something specifically designed for blogging?
