Before you start

Hi everybody!

I'm Shawn, and I'm completely new to Drupal.

I've been asked by a client to make some minor (seemingly) changes to their existing site. I thought it was going to be a snap, but then I found out they are running on Drupal, and I've never used it before.

My question is this; How do I get started? I need to change some images in a portfolio gallery for the client. That's it. Do I need to install Drupal on my local server? What would be the next steps?

a tool to automatically migrate the content of my website created in wordpress to drupal. I read somewhere that there is a module for migrating files based on XML. Currently I want to integrate an online store and I read that it is advisable to use this platform to the detriment to Wordpress

I am a novice Web designed and as such,, I may ask foolish or elementary questions. I apologize in advance for these and hope I will be treated as a novice and not the village idiot for asking them.

I wanted to create scrolling backgrounds on my Website. Is that possible using Drupal or would another language make more sense?

Hello - my company is perusing Drupal and we have decided to implement an adaptive content approach to our new website. Is there a Drupal module, or modules that assist with this? I have searched around with no luck. I did find a posting about an adaptive content module, but it is not released yet. If there are currently no modules, would anyone have a recommendation on how to approach this? Maybe Drupal is not currently the best solution to implement adaptive content.

Hello everybody. I am searching for a new Wiki for our Company. Currently we are running on Doku Wiki. Trough my researches in the internet i landed her to the Drupal Webpage. Therer are many recommendations for a Drupal Wiki. Before i can continue with my evaluations process i need to know if it's possible to perform a Migration from a Doku Wiki to a Drupal Wiki ?

Unable to connect to the Internet after Installation
When i installed drupal 7.39, it got started on that day but after 2days when i sat on my laptop and wanted to start drupal login page it is not opening, consistently showing unable to connect to internet although my net is connected and is working. What is the procedure on starting localhost/drupal/user page in my system?? Help me as i m new and a learner
