Before you start

Would like to use the Drupal website as a secure site for displaying interactive custom mysql reports. I have recently downloaded Drupal on a shared hosting account that uses a Linux server. I will be using a MySql database for the data. I am looking for something like SSRS or Crystal Reports to use with Drupal. Does Drupal have a report writer module like this?

As you can see I'm new here and I would like to build an Ecommerce website.I want to have an Ebay like site where you can sign up and
sell with a fixed price or auction.Buyers will talk to the sellers and the transaction will be made.I would also like to have a module for charging small comisions or fees,which will be included to the final payout.Can you guys help me finding the good modules for the construction of this site please ?

I am a product manager for the company I work for, which has been in business for nearly 20 years. They have a process which imports XML files and then performs extensive calculations to generate specific documentation. We are now planning to build a "portal" in which we will introduce a variety of new web-centric products and communication between individuals and companies. I am certain that most of the portal functions would fit well into the Drupal model. But I'm unsure about some the most critical points.
