Examiner.com structure and architecture?

Obviously Examiner.com is one of the Drupal showcase accounts, but it does exactly what I want to do and don't know where to start.

It comes up with a generic home page and a list of cities you can select. When you select a city you have a standardized structure and menu on the cities home page but the home page is filtered to the selected city. You can select a different city from the drop down at the top left of the page, but all the cities have the same menu and format.

Is it a multisite? - school website has to be divided by to categories.

I'm presently working on a school website and I have one dilemma. The school is divided by gender and the content has to be in two languages.

The language part is fine no problem, but to divide the content by gender is a more difficult approach. I would like to have different main-menus etc..

Can anybody suggest how to approach this problem ? Is the only way out is Multisite?

Thank you.

What will be the future of Drupal's own Registration and Comment systems?

With all most all mass user participated sites (not brochure sites or mega brochures like whitehouse etc) using Facebook/Twitter login and with Google+ coming up there are two questions:

Will our own Registration system be used in future ( I wish it is used, and sites remove FB buttons)
Will our Comment system be used ? With more sites using system like Disqus and now the Facebook Comment Plugin (even sites like Techcrunch) it seems that the native commenting system of Drupal, Wordpress are less and less used everyday. Once the commenting system of Drupal or Geeklog were forerunners of how commenting system should be. I do wish that this still continues to rule and no one is forced to register at FB just to participate in another site of their interest. There should have been antitrust and/or privacy issues but probably in reality only better commenting system can win, for example if "comments" and "login" of all scripts like Drupal, WP, Joomla "talk" to each other.

Embedding images in project issue comments

While participating in Drupal issue queue discussions, I noticed that some users were able to embed images directly within their comments. However, when I tried to do so the image was filtered out. What do I need to do to get my image to display on the issue page?

HTML Form Help.

I need some help in knowing if I can even do this.

I have a housing for rent list. I would like to have the owner come to my site, fill out the form, and then have it appear in the list once approved.

I am thinking I would have an HTML form that a 3rd party could fill out, that would then crate a content node that had the information from the form that was formatted. Then I would like to take the node generated from the form and display it in a node list. Any idea how this can be done or if. Sorry I am new at this.

What are the major reasons you choose Drupal over other PHP tools in your project?

I am a big fan of Drupal and my company has been using Drupal for near 6 months now. In my spare time, I also compare other PHP tools such as Yii, CI and Zend with Drupal and see which tools is the best for which projects. Recently, I launch a Twitter social app at Tweetarm and have started seeing people ask a question about the major reasons people choose Drupal over other PHP tools in web project? I hope I can answer it more and provide people with more convincing facts.
