A Druplicon-shaped EU flag with the word "GDPR" in its center
GDPR sql dump configuration

"After four years of preparation and debate, the GDPR was finally approved by the EU Parliament on 14 April 2016. It will enter into force 20 days after its publication in the EU Official Journal and will be directly applicable in all members states two years after this date. Enforcement date: 25 May 2018 - at which time those organizations in non-compliance will face heavy fines."

This module gives end-user visibility to the data stored about himself/herself and aims to help site admins follows the guidelines and legislation set by the EU.

Current features

  • Checklist for site admin incl. automated content, module and configuration discovery (e.g. cookie consent, check if there is privacy policy page etc)
  • A status line on the status report page based on the checklist status.
  • Drush command (drush gdpr-sql-dump) to obfuscate data. Primary goal is to prevent developers from accessing user data. Under heavy development:
    1. 8.x-1.x 🠂 already implemented CLI commands for Drush 8
    2. 8.x-2.x 🠂 placeholder branch only for future Drush 9 port

Future features

  • Allow logged in user to see all raw data stored about himself/herself (user entity)
  • Allow user to initiate “forget me” action from site admins
  • More items and recommendations to checklist
  • Make sure user can rectify all data about himself/herself
  • Allow user to remove the account (content is not removed)
  • Make API for other contrib modules to announce user data stored
  • ...and what you suggest: feature requests are welcome!

D8 & D7

Maintainers' clear goal is to continuously provide the same feature set both for Drupal 7 and Drupal 8, with no (or the minimum) difference. Therefore don't worry, even if the feature request issues are mostly assigned to 8.x branch, it means only saving time of creating duplications for D7 too.

This module is in active development. Please use the issue queue for issues of feature requests.

Supporting organizations:
Initial kick-off, MVP for D7, funding further development
Porting MVP to D8, further development
