At my core I am a geek. I love technology and always install the latest version of programs I don’t really need just to try out the new features. At night when most are reading the latest Game of Thrones before bed I am flicking through my iPad catching up on the latest code tuts and technology reviews.

I take great pride in my work, play well with others and I think due to the experience of running my own small business, understand better than most what it takes to complete projects and meet expectations. I’m used to being the sole person I rely on to resolve tricky coding problems and always try to look at the whole picture.

My pet hates are contractors that oversell their skills and then don’t complete tasks, those that fail to comply with coding standards and people with fixed opinions due to outdated information.
I am a firm believer in the coding dogma: • don’t repeat yourself
• convention over configuration
• test driven development
• do it later
• code should read like well written English
