Hosting support

Just added a group (members) and adding members (John, Ann etc) to my Drupal 7.8 site.
I want to give them these users the possiblity to download certain files located in a private folder. Is it possible to give users of a group access to this directory. (so not adding individual users but assign access to all users with the member role)
Suppose this shoudl be done in the htaccess file but I am not succeeding.

is this possible and what shout be done to achieve this?

I used simplenews create newsletter.
1. I config send newsletter for all email subscribe. when i send newsletter to all email subscribed. but, all email subscribed can't receive newsletter email. when i send only to test email, it receive ok.
2. I want send newsletter as html email. I use mime mail. but i want create newsletter template for all newsletter. I changed content type newsletter issue for my template. when i sent the newsletter to test mail. The newsletter see ok with gmail, but it don't show with my template in microsoft office outlook.

I am soon going to panic.... :-S

I need a working GD in my php 5.2.x to use with Drupal 6. I have found source-code to gdlib and it is installed. I have compiled php-5.2.17 with gd support and phpinfo() tells me it is enabled. But.... the status-report in Drupal say that gd is installed with poor quality?

What am I doing wrong? Can someone link me to a guide on how to make this work? btw... is GD abandoned? it seems that it is quite some years since the last update?

When i work with administrator page. so, I work a 5 minute. The website can't run because warning:

I'm not sure what to ask my hosting co. I installed Drupal, created a SQL database, all went well but when I tried to make a custom colour design on Bartik or Garland I was bombarded with error messages that are jimberish to me. All else functions properly.

I assume it is a permissions error but i have no idea how to direct my Host. I have been doing this on another account and never had a problem. Is it the new version 7.8 compared to 7.2?

Here is one: when I try to use custom colours or anything other than the default blue.

I have just upload my website in to hosting. so, I config setting.php file connect to database ok. but when my website run it show result as none page. My website develop by drupal. I use byethost17.com free.
Please help me.
