Hosting support

drupal host with hostgator would display correctly with the following code:

include ("http://www.box.com/shared/ggpfoa7zeibdc2g46o5s");

On the other hand, drupal host on a local machine doesn't work that way. I have Ubuntu 10.04 install drupal 7.x locally and when I include the above code this is the error I see:

I have a drupal project that I want to start hosting and publishing online.

I have few questions here (and please bear with me till the end bcause this is the 1st time I use hosting):

1. My project was built on Windows. I thought about hosting on Linux because most of the hosting companies have drupal, ldap, mail, apache on Linux. And this is my area of expertise. So my question is: Is it easy to migrate my project to Linux provided that Iinstall the same modules as in WIndows?

2. If I used Linux (and please dont turn the subject into which solution is more powerful), will it be a limitation in terms of web design later on? I mean it could be that developers will tell me: Oh you have the site on Linux while my expertise is on Windows. It should not be the case. Right?

3. When I use the shared hosting (so far this is the cheapest one), will I be able to manage drupal configuration (modules, ...) and apache (redirection,...), and ldap? I know I should check with the hosting companies but what are the norms there in shared hosting. Actually I did not use this service before.

Currently my site hosted in a shared hosting, as it now consumes more resources because the traffic grows my web hosting administrator said my site has already outgrown the shared hosting limit.

I would like to ask what is your recommended VPS. As I have searched the web I came across the following VPS:
-VPS.NET
-Linode
-Rackspace
-inmotion hosting
-webhostingpad

I am confused what VPS to choose. Please help me what to choose (or any other VPS not in the list that you may recommend) is the best for Drupal 7 site.

Hello

I have two problems.
The first one is that although the domain name is redirected to the server IP address, search engine show both of them. For example, lets say my web-page page is example.com/about and server address is 1234.hosting.com.
The search engine shows both of them in the search results: example.com/about and also 1234.hosting.com/about.

The other thing is that search engine also shows such directories as example.com/sites/, example.com/scripts/ etc etc... Although they should be restricted in robots.txt.

What might be the problem?

j'utilise wamp server 2.2a pour heberger un site drupal6 sur mon machine
je fais configurer mon httpd.conf file et les virtual host sous windows xp comme m'indique ci-dessous
pour virtual host:
le fichier :
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
127.0.0.1 localhost
::1 localhost
j'ajoute la ligne :
127.0.0.1 www.life.com
Et enregistre le fichier.
pour httpd.conf:
