Web Hosting deletes accounts and does not respond to support tickets

I have a very unusual problem to report and I welcome your advice.

I own a reseller account with TMaxHost.

On Friday 18 December I deleted a number of unused accounts by using WHM > Multi Account Functions > Terminate Multiple Accounts.

I had used these accounts for testing and I did not need them any longer.

At the end of the procedure I listed the remaining accounts by using WHM > Account Information > List Accounts and all my main accounts were there, while the tests accounts that I deleted were gone.

So far so good.

A few hours later I found out that all my main accounts (with the exception of one) had disappeared.

I logged on a support ticket with TMaxHost, who responded that I deleted the accounts but they refused to give any proof of that - for instance the lines of the server log.

I know for sure that I did not delete my main accounts, but only my test accounts.

TMaxHost asked me username and password for the accounts to restore and I send them straight away.

That was the last time they replied to that support ticket.

I posted a few more messages asking them to give me an update, but no response.

I therefore opened a new ticket with Support, asking some explanation.

A day later both tickets had somehow disappeared - I still have the automatic emails that I received when I opened them.

SMTP server response: 553 5.5.4

Dear all,
I'm currently using Drupal 6 to develop websites, here is the problem I don't know how to solve:

# warning: mail(): SMTP server response: 553 5.5.4 ... Real domain name required for sender address in C:\apache2triad\htdocs\drupal\includes\mail.inc on line 193.
# Unable to send e-mail. Please contact the site administrator if the problem persists.

Anyone knows what's solution for this? Really appreciate if you could help!

Thanks,
Ning

I DO NOT RECOMMEND HOSTICAN.COM

I have found a lot of value in the forums, so I wanted to share my personal experience with Hostican:

For over a year I hosted my websites with Hostican. On 12/7/09, at approx. 12pm I realized that my websites had been turned off and were not available. I immediately tried to contact Hostican to resolve the problem by calling their phone line, but only received an answering message and a message that they “We’re Experiencing High Call Volume”. When I went to their website I realized I was unable to login into my account. I continued to call them and sent them inquiries via the contact form on their website.

Please note that on their website they clearly advertise and market that they Guarantee: “24/7/365 Phone & Email Support”.

Why would a host want to upgrade to php5.2 from php 5.1.6?

Hi guys,
We're having an issue install drupal 7. We get to the first page "select an install profile" and it appears not to load the template (Its a white page with only 1 blank option to select that doesn't do anything). I don't know if this is related but we recently found out our host only has php 5.1.6?

My Review Of Bluehost With A Drupal Forum Site

These forums have been incredibly useful to me so I thought I would contribute this. Maybe somebody else will find this helpful.

I was a Bluehost customer for over a year. My two cents are that Bluehost is good for a certain type of customer, bad for another.

The pros are it was cheap and reliable for my static content sites. When I say static content, I'm referring to brochure-like sites with an amount of nodes that don't increase much day-to-day.

I started to noticing the cons as I one of my sites grew. The site involved forums which demand considerably more CPU power than a site with content that remains largely static.

Even though I worked hard to streamline Drupal and the site as much as possible (turning off statistics, views, etc.), we hit Bluehost's CPU ceiling very quickly. While Bluehost offers unlimited bandwidth, if offers very limited CPU. My site slowed to an absolute crawl.

I realized that I needed to upgrade to dedicated hosting but had to work with Bluehost while I got things sorted out. I tried to work with their tech support to make some improvements to the PHP settings.

Bluehost tech support was always friendly and prompt, but I did not feel like they were very knowledgeable. I am hardly a hosting expert, but I felt like many times I was talking to somebody who knew less than me.
