I have 2 sites hosted with some company X for almost 2 years. They promised unlimited everything, but in the TOS there's some hidden limit of not having more tham 50,000 files.
Everything went well. I also had several other sites under dev. in different folders. Yesterday, without any warning, since Cpanel does not show this, I was told I wa violating TOS with over 200,000 files.

I was of course quite shocked, because I have not been aware of any method of detecting how many files one is having. I have deleted all my dev. sites & have my 2 lives sites, BOTH SMALL & regional, both having a total of about 150MB.

The problem after deleting all files not related specifically to the lives sites, I still have a total of about 100000 files. I cannot delete my site files. They suggest opening separate accounts,.. which I think makes a mockery of the unlimited this & that of the package features.

One of them is a Drupal-based community site, with just a few active users & not much content all, with lots of modules in use. This site has a total of about 55MB of zipped files & the DB in phpmyadmin is shown to have about 45MB.
The other site is non-Drupal, a small regional web directory. Its files are only about 13MB (zipped) & the DB about 1.4MB (gzip).

When the host showed there was no alternative but to open another account ...

I was trying to add the Ubercart module to my drupal site when I received the error that says I basically ran out of php memory. I thought that I might get around this step by creating two websites: domain.com and store.domain.com. I figured that way I wouldn't have to send people to a separate domain in order to purchase products. I used cpanel WHM and created the store.domain.com site, but now I have no clue how to make DNS resolve the url. Any help would be much appreciated.

Having a bit of a weird problem. The best research I can locate says that my PHP.INI file and possibly my SENDMAIL.INI file are misconfigured or missing. PHP.INI (or PHP5.INI) is probably within the scope my ISP allows in that from what I can tell it can be dropped anywhere. SENDMAIL.INI decidedly isn't, and that's more likely what needs tweaked. But I need more ammunition to be able to push my ISP (GoDaddy) to definitively deal with their end of it -- I can handle [eventually, I'm a n00b to Drupal, but a veteran programmer and can eventually handle it] my end in getting Drupal working.

But let me back up a bit and describe the symptoms, that's the fun part.

I discovered this when I tried to create email notification to my personal email when comments are added to my weblog. Easy enough: add the Send email custom action, then assign it to the New Comment and Updated Comment triggers. Presto. Except... no, wait, the page is taking forever to load. And eventually Chrome just spits out this stark fact [otherwise known as an extended error message] "Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): Unknown error."

That's a bit unusual, most of the time Drupal is polite enough to at least spit out a 500. Of course, that's contingent on PHP being polite enough to actually release control of the script to the next statement, now isn't it?

I'm looking for someone who can help me setup and configure Linode to run my Drupal website. At present it is on a shared host and I want to transfer it to Linode.

Also, any more recommendations on using cloud servers vs VPS will be appreciated. I'm novice to managing servers.

It's just that the ISP's server I can not get it working.

SYMPTOMS:
I am trying to add content of type "Video". I enter the title and the URL, but when I click "Save" I get redirected to a "Page not found" page.
I've tried to embed both Youtube and Dailymotion videos, using both the urls and their embed code. The problem persists.

Once you remove the embed url in the node beautifully saved.
Any ideas?
