Hosting support

I am with Hostmonster, and have been more than happy with their service and support. However, they use PHP 5.2.14 and D7 requires PHP 5.3 or higher.

So, I think a thread needs to be started; It needs to list what hosting options are already D7 friendly.

Hi guys , I have signed up for a shared hosting with internetbrothers.co.kr and am going to feed my drupal.
I am OK now. But recently I am also thinking to start an open VPN with their VPS hosting as well.
Is there any special requirement for open VPN? They do not allow pinging . Will that be OK

I have a community website that will be launching soon built on drupal 6. The website uses mostly User relationships, 10 cck types, groups, videos and forum. I am expecting around 1500-2000 registered users in 1-3 months and a peak of 400-500 users on certain days(10-15). I am not sure whether to go for a VPS or a dedicated server. Will using memcache or other techniques suggested in high performance group in groups.drupal.org be applicable on both vps and dedicated servers?

I enabled SSH on the server and the server renamed my host name.
I renamed the host name in settings.php ($db_url) but now when I go to my site Drupal is showing the fresh install page.

I tried to delete install.php but Drupal is looking for this file.

do I need to setup my site again?

Hi all!

I've been on godaddy for several years but am recently rebuilding my site with Drupal only to find speed and support dismal with them. I've done a bunch of research and have come to the conclusion that BLUEHOST might be a good option to move to.

I was wondering if some of you could share your sites so I can see what the response time on a drupal site might be hosted at Bluehost ... OR if you are hosted anywhere else and would recommend them, please send me your site url so I can take a quick look.
