First of all, I'm not a Linux expert but I want to check what is the bottle neck in our environment?
1. OS is CentOS 5.5
2. Apache (PHP is configured as FastCGI)
3. MySQL 5.x
4. Drupal 6.x
Kindly suggest tools that are free, easy to configure and use (GUI based will be preferred) for checking / analyzing everything. Processor / Memory / any server component i.e. Apache/MySQL.
I am setting up a dev site on a new host provider. I am having problems with accessing the dev site after I migrate it to the new host.
I created new db and imported the live site db
updated the settings.php with the new url info I chanced db_url, base_url, cookie_domain
I was having some mod_rewrite problems, but with these changes that seems to have resolved itself.
i recently put together a website for a new artist www.ellenonceagain.com and it's hosted by goDaddy and it is slow as heck on some occasions and then sometimes its load quickly
Could this be on godaddy's end...
what are the rules of engagement when it comes to the "intermittent slow website" sometimes it crawls even hangs and other times it works
I just turned on caching to see if that could fix the slowness... Are there any tools that we can check & see if we have module issues or DB connectivity...
I've been asked by a client to build an online shop using Drupal and Ubercart but the client has stressed that they want the pages to load very fast.
Most sites I've built so far have been small sites on shared hosting from 1and1 or GoDaddy and to be honest I haven't been impressed with the page load speeds of either of these hosts.
