wamp solution for windows production server

Hello

what wamp solution would you recommend to host a drupal web site on a windows server 2003 ?

thanks

Which linux distro for D6 and D7 would you recommend?

Hi,

I'm just setting up a new server... and am a bit stuck as to which distro to install.

Previously I used Ubuntu, but the latest version (10.10) comes with php5.3, which doesn't play so well with D6.
Ubuntu version 9.4, that supports php5.2 well, doesn't have a good php-GD graphics library, which causes drupal status report errors.

Can anyone suggest a similar distro or solution that runs Drupal with minimal configuration?

Thanks.

VPS - managed/unmanaged Linode vs HostGator vs JaguarPC

Hi all,

I'm looking for guidance on my server options, and hope that this community can help out. I am considering unmanaged, managed, and semi-managed basic VPS packages from Linode, HostGator, and JaguarPC.

This is my first hosting experience ever. I have no experience setting up or managing servers and server security. My website is quite involved and heavy-weight. It is an e-commerce and community website. It is currently quite module heavy (80 or so) including ImageCache, Views, Panels, and UberCart.

When I host, the website will be used for beta testing so traffic should be very low, but beta testing will not be long, so hosting should be able to handle greater traffic later. My budget for now is <$30/month, managed or unmanaged with at least 256mb fixed memory. I am developing on a localhost, so I'd like to import my drupal settings and databases over. One-touch drupal installs aren't too relevant to me, I don't think.

I initially considered shared hosting, specifically HostGator's Business Plan but they cap memory at 64mb. Running the Devel module query and memory log showed about <70mb with caching off and theme rebuild on. I am flirting with getting smashed by HostGator when my memory peaks over 64mb.

My site is not responding

SOoooo..... this is a long and arduous process for me because I'm not a webguy. I started using drupal because it was user friendly towards people like me with limited experience with code. I had finally put together a site that I thought was good enough to be hosted on the web. the site worked when listed as "websitename.com/drupal" but didn't respond and took me to the godaddy splash page when typed in "websitename.com." I tried redirecting the domain name and the same thing happened.

Which FULLY managed VPS for Drupal?

Hi,

we are currently on a shared host and we want to switch to a VPS. We do not want to bother with installing, configuring, optimizing and maintaining the LAMP stack so we want a FULLY managed VPS (I mean really FULLY managed with LAMP patches).

Which one is good?

Thanks for any recommandations.
