Drupal vs. Red Dot (and 2.0) security.

I have a potentially sweet opportunity to work on a team developing a reasonably prominent website providing yet another win for Drupal.

One snag...

Their IT Team has come back to us and said:
We followed up with our IT people and we cannot use drupal, it has to do with security issues with php. ... We really should be using red dot and red dot 2.0.

MySQL version for Drupal 6

Does Drupal 6 work on MySql version 4.0?

Release notes say "When using MySQL, version 4.1.1
or greater is recommended to assure you can safely transfer the database."

Hi drupalists

,

I'm planning to use an open-source cms for a project at university. Now that I gathered quite a large amount of information on drupal, you've all convinced me that this cms is the most sympathetic solution in the world to handle communities.

Unfortunately, I have to handle my project first, and as there are still a few unsolved questions concerning the capabilities of drupal, I cannot answer at once and in combinaton, I feel a bit lost now.

To get a short impression of the site I have in mind, here's a description

Does drupal fit to the website I want to develop ? Thanks.

I don't have any experience on drupal. I have just kwown it.

Could anyone tell me if drupal is the tool I am looking for to develop an association website, with the characteristics described below?

Characteristics of the future website:

Updating Links in Content on-the-fly

I've read many descriptions and "how we did it" posts in this forum. Yet, there's one question I need an answer for.

Header and Footer (inbound) links don't have the same good value as links placed inside of content.
