Before you start

Hi all,
for the longest time I was interested in Joomla's seamless integration with the Agora plug-in, a fast developed add-on forum module that just "plugs in" with one click. It's for Joomla only, and the developer, Hazzaa, rocks in terms of customer support and speed of development. This is his passion, his full time gig.

So, I'm wondering if Drupal has a specific forum just for Drupal?

Also, I have subscribed to the Joomla news, and gather this will tell me when Drupal 7 is out?

I want to have a certain user type (or role) sign up to the system after filling out a large sign up form (lots more info than just username and email). I then want their account to have 'pending' status until an administrator logs in and determines if that user can become part of the site or not.

Also in the back end of the site does an administrator have the ability to set up a user of a certain role?

Any information on the above questions would be much appreciated.

I need to creat about one hundred of web sites, they ahve some pages in common, plus these pages are to update sometimes per year, drupal could help me in it? if yes, what I have to do for it?

I wonder if you gurus out there can share some thoughts with me about whether to use Drupal. I have read the intro docs. I'm dazzled by the whole idea of the very flexible architecture, such as the concept of snapping together parts rather than simply getting the latest 5 plugins or the like. Yet, the advanced technology gets me a little scared. I don't know if I'm up to it.

I never seem to meet a CMS that I don't like. At least to some degree. :) I mostly work with MODx, Wordpress, and now I've just learned Textpattern, and I know others. I'm stuck right in between being a designer and programmer. I'm not really either, although I can do some of both. I do enjoy CSS a whole lot, and like template coding and putting together parts to make a site. I have moved further away from coding PHP, so I'm sort of a chicken in that area; I haven't made any full plugins, though I do PHP bug fixing and small code tweaks.

I have a drupal site running on my asus eee 900 pc and I want to mirror this site onto 4 free webhost providers with free unlimited space/bandwidth that provide php and mysql. My problems

1) My drupal site runs on my own created tld so I can't directly connect my server to the free hosts server
2) The free hosts don't allow cron jobs, curl, ssh access
3) I only have ftp access
