I have what might be a simple question to answer. I am a lay-person
without a ton of computer knowledge. The non-profit I work for would like
to set up a website with forums and chat, with a blog and the possibility
of a wiki in the future. We are in the planning stages right now on this
project.
I've tried to configure my Windows machine to use Drupal twice now. Each time I run into one error or another. I'm willing to give it one more try.
Can someone point me to a source for PHP and MySQL installers and simple directions re how they should be set up (one of the things attracting me to Drupal is the claim that deep PHP and MySQL skills are not required)?
I'd like to build a site similar to eBay and capable of the same size and scale. Would Drupal be a good way to go for this? Or would all the modules necessary to create something like that drag it down and make it slow? I obviously want my site to be quick. There are other features I would like to add to the site in addition to that of Ebay's which make me wonder...
We have a client (professional/academic membership organization) that wants to add functionality to their website. I've read through the FAQ and searched this forum, but haven't found these answers...
