Before you start

I have another ap on my server that requires MultiByte String to be ON. Is it accurate that D6 requires MultiByte String to be OFF? If so what's a work around?

I have been hearing alot of drupal lately.

I would probably like to learn it, but before I do, let me ask you this.

Would drupal be a good choice to develop an asset management system? We need a system that will track alot of digital media. Everything from quicktime movies, image sequences, digital photography, document files, pdfs, object files, scene files, etc etc. Some are image files, some are text files, some are binary files. We need a good system that will give us an easily searchable database of all elements in the asset library.

would drupal be the best cms for a craigslist type of website?

What module should I use if I want that admin could send message to the website users..

Could Drupal be used to make a private members community site for the exchange of links? Would like to have reputation like forums have, with member ratings, by invitation only., maybe different member levels based on some criteria.

Could something like this be easily done with Drupal? Can it be done using current drupal modules only?
