Is drupal good for my need

Hi,
I am developer and have past experience in databases primarily like oracle and warehouse

I wish to create a database driven website which will have following features

1:-There will be user logins . a sign up/sign in form in the front page . user will see their own specific page.
it will have payment options for clients to purchase a plan and depending on the plan availed they have full/partial access of database entries.
2:-A searcher/advanced search/search directory and add various key indicators
3:-searcher will access the data stored in back end tables and retrieved .
4:- Logged users can see each other on line and able to chat with each other
5:- I wish to create some parameter tables in database and use the values at run-time on web
page access.Is It possible?

6:- User upload features like files, data .. and will it be stored in DB or file level .
I wish to receive some forms filled from client through email and directly store in database like we load in data warehouse.

7:- creation and viewing of reports based on data in DB retrieval at user level or admin level

8:- How much extent of coding is required for all ..? I am basic in javascript and PHP. but great in databases.
I shall be thankful if you can guide me for all above as I am just a beginner in this great world of drupal
If you can guide it will be superb

Online Restaurant Delivery Website, can it be built with Drupal?

Am thinking of building an online restaurant food delivery website for my town, where users can create an account with their address and start ordering from restaurants in their area.
Every restaurant will also have a login where can add menu items with rates, delivery timings, minimum amount, and special promotions announcements.
I would like also to have an orders que, showing current orders on the homepage of the site (something like the one in w w w . 6 a l a b a t. c o m)
There will be no payments processing, users will pay cash on delivery.
The web admin or the restaurant account owner will be able to release the order if made to his restaurant, and the user who ordered will then be able to review the restaurant, and the item ordered.
User should be able to see their orders history and repeat any previous order with a click of a button.
An interface should be built to look nicer than just filling a quantity input box next to each item on the menu..am thinking of a plus button next to each item and have the result displayed live on a side panel (the basket)..check the screenshot from w w w . f o o d on c l i c k . c o m http://imgur.com/Tqa5z
Is it possible to build such a website or let me call it a web app, with Drupal? Or shoud I better go learn: Php, Ajax, html5, javascript, jquery..etc and built this website from scratch??

Is Drupal good for an email subscrption service

Hi All,

I've recently looked into Drupal to develop a website but I'm not sure whether it possible.

The way I need it to work is for a user to pay for a subscription to this site where they will receive emails every 2 or 3 days. The email will contain some content from a database. So in effect the process is

1. Capture details when the user self-registers
2. Take payment details
3. Generate emails at regular intervals
4. Cancel Subscription

Appreciate any advice on this and any pointers to useful profiles, themes and modules.

Module Availability between Drupal 6 and 7

My company has looked into switching from Joomla! to Drupal in the past, and the last time we took a peak at where Drupal was it was when version 7 was 1-2 months into a stable release. One thing we noticed were people complaining about the module ports to version 7.

Would you say that by now most if not all modules are readily available for version 7 now?

Thanks.

User managed store (like classifieds with payment option)

(Sorry if there is info on this somewhere els, but I could not find...)

I want to make a "flea market" site.

The idea is a user registers on the site, posts items they have for sale, then other users can buy and pay the seller directly. I would never handle the money. I just would supply the marketplace.

I realize I could do a sort of classifieds but the payment transaction seams clunky to have to send a personal message or email.

I would rather there be a cart system that sent payment to each seller separately.

Acquia Drupal vs Drupal 6.22 core!

Hello All,

I am going to use acquia drupal profile to create my drupal website. Is it OK to use acquia drupal or I should use drupal core 6.22 from drupal.org?
