I have a custom web app, completely unrelated to Drupal, that I want to integrate with Drupal because:
1: I want to use Drupal as the portal for the site so that I can do basic CMS stuff - such as post updates about the web app
2: . . . and provide jumping off points to the app
3: . . . and integrate with a wiki
4: . . . and integrate with phpbb (I see the module(s) for that)
I'm curious as to whether I should build a new website using Drupal 6, Drupal 7, or Drupal Gardens (this last option would be designed/hosted on their server).
The concept of the website is a bit tough to explain. Basically, it's an online educational portal where high school students can sign up for online courses (not necessarily hosted on the site) or locally taught classes, for high school credits. They'll also have tailored learning plans (as written/guided by some employees/experts).
I am wanting to convert an access database into a website, before I start work on a completely custom solution I am trying to determine if there is an existing platform that will work for what I am trying to do.
The database at the moment consists of 2 forms, one to input information (it's a type of collection tracking system), and one to use when you remove something from the collection.
I just read my first post I had posted back in July and man, did I sound like a d-bag. Since then, I've gotten more involved and now have a lot more interest in Drupal. I even took the time to attend a Drupal conference which really opened my eyes to the power of Drupal.
At my company, we are looking to see if Drupal is a possible solution as a portal.
We have found some resources where people have claimed that they have used Drupal as a portal; however, I am not certain if they actual are portals, or just a plain CMS solution. For example, we are currently using Drupal for our Intranet but I would never consider it at portal. The reason is that it isn't communicating with other applications to obtain information, yet is more of a standalone solution.
Hi everyone! I have seen various answers to this question in the Drupal forum, but the answers seem very complicated to me.
Right now I have a live Wordpress site and I don't want to transfer the domain name before my new Drupal site is ready to go. My plan is to build a new hosted Drupal site, through a web host so the install is easy. (I'm leaning towards Green Geeks, which seems to be highly recommend by this community)
