I am a website designer (very little programming knowledge) who is looking for a CMS that can help me build and maintain dynamic sites by myself. In the past , I have been using a CMS that I had developed for my business, http://www.pixelhead.net, many years ago. It was a robust CMS that was initially created for me to build Websites for Members of Congress. The problem is that my developers have gone on to pursue other interests and my CMS is no longer supported. I currently have 7 or 8 websites that I'd like to rebuild with Drupal and a couple of new clients that I'd like to create Drupal sites for. But, at this point, I feel like a person who owns a restaurant that can't cook! I have been researching many different solutions and believe I may have found one in Drupal.
I am looking for broad, brushstroke advice from other designers who have limited programming experience, but have found success with Drupal. These are just some of my questions:
1. Is it even possible for someone like myself to take an original design, break it up and build a site with Drupal?
2. Are using templates, such as Fusion, the way to go?
3. I do not want to maintain any type of hosting environment. What solutions and hosting providers have you found to be the best for hosting multiple sites, upgrades, cost, etc.
