need help for correct data structure and corresponding modules for a "photographic film list" website

Hi guys
It has been a while I was working with Drupal. My current portfolio homepage is set up with Drupal and it does what it should do! But a friend and I got the idea for another small little web project. Nothing special, but – for an inexperienced user like me – complicated enough to need some help.
The main problem is what modules do I need and how do I structure my data I want to put on the web. But first let me explain what the planed site does:

I want to list all available photographic films on the marked, together with details like size, speed, dev. Process, if its color or bw or infrared or whatever, manufacturer details, maybe even spec sheets and date it went on sale for the first time, previous products and similar. And maybe even a rating or “profile” to match with other films (like e.g. for finding alternatives to films that are no longer on the market).

Drupal distribuitions

Hello,

I'm new in Drupal... and need some orientation please.

I search from distribution hoping to fine some packet almost ready with what I need. I thought that distribution version was already came with some modules in.

I install the Open Publish, but it came blank.

There is any solution already build or have to start from zero?

Regards,

Kick Start (IIS hosting questions and basic setup)

I have a few websites but not in Drupal, so treat me as a NOOB!

I'm keen to learn Drupal as it seems to have more finesse than Wordpress etc. I have a background in .NET so first opted for Blogengine.net which I don't think much of.

First question - I have windows hosting with m6.net and ixhosting.com. Both my accounts are IIS. With Wordpress I've had a few small PHP issues on IIS which I don't really understand. It means I have a url mydomain.com/index.php/pagename, where the index.php part ideally shouldn't be there. I also have problems with invalid URLs which should redirect to my main page but instead redirect to a page from the hosting provider.

I tried installing Drupal on my m6.net account a few months ago but couldn't get it working (not sure why). This is why I originally started using Wordpress.

The website I want to develop I don't have much of a budget for. If I can find some cheap bulk hosting for PHP then it could be worth doing as I have other websites in mind, but perhaps for now I should get hosting for a single website I try and get Drupal up and running?

Are there any cheap hosting providers that have Drupal already installed?

Or...

Should I be able to get it working well enough on one of my IIS accounts without any issues similar to those I've had with Wordpress?

Field Encryption / Account Management

I work at a Creative Design Agency managing the digital/hosting side of the business.

For a long time the company has been using secure excel spread sheets for managing the various accounts/passwords etc for each client. I have been putting together a Drupal-based site to contain a knowledge base, articles etc and all want to include all of our hosting elements.

As I will be storing passwords I want them to be encrypted in the database, but they will need to be displayed to authorised users to allow them to make use of them.

There maybe an open-source product out there that does this, or a Drupal module? I have had a look at some of the things that have come up on my search on drupal.org but nothing that immediately stood out.

My plan is to hold a hierarchy type association similar to this:

  1. Client
    1. Domain 1
      1. Accounts
        1. DB account & password
        2. Drupal Admin account & password
        3. Analytics Admin account & password
      2. Resources
        1. Disk Space
        2. Bandwidth
    2. Domain 2
      1. Accounts
        1. DB account & password
        2. Drupal Admin account & password
        3. Module 1 Admin account & password
      2. Resources
        1. Disk Space
        2. Bandwidth
