I understand that Drupal "hooks" is what made the Drupal - Drupal, but been fun of OOP since times when Smalltak and C++ where the hottest thing it always annoyed me that you can not implement Drupal Module as a PHP class. After spending some time thinking, I have come up with the solution to this (self imposed) problem (gist).

I want to be be able to share my content to other websites. I want to share a list of events.
I know about RSS (not suitable for event content) and also about using iframes but have heard that iframes are being superceeded by APIs.

I don't know anything about APIs but a search of Drupal.org shows that there is a Content API available for Drupal 7. I was going to try it but saw that it requires a services module. I can't find a services module for Drupal 7.

I am trying to forecast how long it will be until the modules Drupal 8 will be ready for a technical-savvy development team to start using for a large multilingual multisite project.

(i.e. do we wait or migrate later)

I am thinking probably Fall 2014. I would appreciate hearing your estimates.

Now I know Google would think there is a gliche in the system when rankings from one site come up like this, if you can come first from 6.1 Billion pages you are doing well, and this will never happen again.

Before google, there was "Matilda Search Engine" an Australian search engine, and it was built from scratch in html by my last business partner, and I sat beside him a few years ago building our site from html, the whole thing.

I am compiling a list of the "Essential Tools for Professional Drupal Development" for our staff and wanted some input on what you guys think should be included in the list.
