Is Drupal the right choice?

Hi all.

I am searching for a development-platform for a customer. This is not for a one-time project but for future development, for websites, webservices, backend for existing systems, etc.

I always believed that the PHP-platform had the most options, but after having spent some time in various CMS solutions on .NET platform, I looks like that the CMS-systems are simply better on the .NET platform. This surprises me since we have more than 60+ CMS-systems on PHP according to wiki. I haven't look’ed through all tho. :) It is not possible to have experience on all systems so my comments may not be correct. So don’t hesitate to correct me if I am wrong.

My customer has following requirements:
1. It must be SOA. I would state that a webpage is nothing more than a client on equal terms like an app on i.e. Android.
2. It is essential that there exist some form of frontend-component-engine to speed up development.
3. It must implement the MVC-pattern to make development flexible and easy to maintain.
4. It must have web services, primarily REST/JSON.
5. It must have template-/theme-engine.
6. It must have support for data-providers.
7. It must have jQuery as base for both frontend and backend.
8. It must have unit-testing.
9. It must support a number of databases, in this situation MySQL, MS SQL, Azure SQL.

Drupal Module Scalability

Hi All, Is there somewhere a list of popular drupal module that scale well ?

TIA

Drupal sites as a threat !

Hi All,

I have created a procedures Drupal site that is stand-alone and SSL secure.

Our internal It department is concerned that this site can be a threat, and a conduit for hackers to get in to internal network.
There is nothing connecting the internal network to the Drupal site except a reference path of users going to the site for info.

In my amateur opinion, it seems to be about as locked-down as it can be, but then again, I know nothing about Black Hat.

Performance : Scaling drupal by clustering users

Hi all,

When scaling a high traffic site running drupal the underlying problem is often to serve the same content to numerous users or at least to behave as if one need to have the whole database and content potentially accessible by requests triggered by numerous users.

Now what would be the relevant solution when each user need mainly to interact with his own content ? Think for example to a personal note taking site with large number of users.

How to edit/delete a Drupal.org comment?

Hi guys.

In the issue tracker for a theme I commented few months ago and added a patch file to my comment. Unfortunately, my patch file had sensible information in it and now when I Google a particular phrase the sensible info shows up as the first result. My bad for such a n0ob mistake.

So, I would like to delete the patch file I uploaded, is it possible? Is it possible to delete the whole comment incluiding the file in it?

I'm searching for a "Delete/Remove" button all over the place and can't find it.

Thanks
